John Harrison is a well-established family business, opened in the 1940’s by John Harrison in a disused chicken shed just outside Lowdham, Nottinghamshire.
After serving in the RAF during the Second World War, John Harrison returned home and set up a business as a vehicle mechanic – and so John Harrison Lowdham was born.
On this page are various images from the 1940’s to the present day.

The chicken shed was eventually converted into an office, workshop and forecourt and it has evolved from that time into the garage premises that exist today.


With the recent venture in 2009 into a Ford franchise alongside the existing Peugeot arrangements, a new location at Newark dealing exclusively with Ford vehicles has now opened for business.
